Meeting Minutes

New members:  No new members

Old business:

• A motion was made and seconded to approve the previously distributed minutes of the March meeting.
• Eric Walker reported that club has a balance of $2968.
• Fun Fly – carried over into new business.

New Business:

·        Final preparations were made for the fun fly on April 12:

• John Moll – Drinks, canopy, and onions.
• Eric Walker – Hot dogs, buns, chips, and condiments
• Curtis Bost – Plates and silverware.
• George Estes – Table
• Neal McGrath – Gas Grill

·        The Snow Birds are going to be performing on May 7^th at the airport.  We will be able to put on a static display and fly.  All members present committed to helping with the static display.

·        Ken told of an issue he had with his big biplane.  While flying over the runway, the elevator broke loose causing the plane to crash.  If he had been flying toward the pits or spectator area, he could have really hurt someone.  The moral of the story is to keep your plane in front of you.  Do not make moves towards the pits because you never know when you may have a failure.

·        Now that we are in Daylight Saving Time, student night is back on.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact their instructor to set up a flying time.

Announcements:

• Dues for 2008 are now past due.  Dues for existing members are $30 and can be remitted to Neal McGrath at the following address:

• The next meeting will be May 1, 2008
• Blue Ridge will be hosting a Fly-in May 10.
• Joe Nall May 14 – 17.
