Meeting Minutes

New members:  No new members

Old business:

• A motion was made and seconded to approve the previously distributed minutes of the November 7, 2007 meeting.
• As the only nominations for officers was a nomination for the current slate officers, a motion was made and seconded that the current slate of officers be ratified for 2008.  Therefore, the officers for 2008 are as follows:
  • President, Eric Walker
  • Vice President, John Moll
  • Secretary and Treasurer, Neal McGrath
  • Safety Officer, Ken Whitfield

• At the Christmas party several of the door prizes were gift certificates to HobbyTown.  Because our esteemed Treasurer left the HobbyTown gift certificates at home, we gave the winners IOUs.  We currently have one unclaimed Hobbytown gift certificate left.  If you received an IOU at the Christmas party and have not received your gift certificate please contact Neal McGrath.

New Business:

• Several members experienced radio interference during the month of December, which resulted in the loss of one plane.  As a result, Eric Walker contacted a representative of the AMA who suggested several potential sources of the interference and offered to provide scanning equipment to try and locate the source.  This will take place in January.  In the meantime, please conduct a thorough frequency check before flying.
• A brief discussion of our 2008 calendar of events took place.  It was agreed that a further discussion will take place at the February meeting with the goal of establishing dates for all of the Club’s major events.  Please give both the types, number and dates of activities that you would like to see the Club participate in during 2008 some thought and bring your calendars to the February meeting. 

• A committee was established to help in the search for an alternative flying site consisting of Ben Willis, Jim Farley and Neal McGrath.

Announcements: Dues for 2008 are now due.  Dues for existing members are $30 and can be remitted to Neal McGrath at the following address:
