Tri-County R/C Flyers July 3, 2008 Meeting Minutes New members: None Old business:
- A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the June 5, meeting.
- Neal McGrath distributed financial statements for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. The financial statements indicated the Club had receipts of $206 related to dues from new and existing members ($140) and hat sales ($66) and expenditures of $656 primarily related to mowing ($270) and field maintenance ($360) leaving a balance of $2,518. A motion was made and approved to accept the financial statements as presented.
New Business: · Balloon Fest There was a brief discussion of the Club’s participation in this year’s Anderson Balloon Fest. Because a different group will be organizing the Balloon Fest this year, we need to determine if there will be a Big Boy’s Toy display and, if so, confirm that we will be invited to participate. It was also pointed out that after last year’s event we had a discussion of things that the Club could do to make our participation even better. The list is reprinted below: o Get all of the planes off of the ground o See if we can get AMA involvement o Consider having a group of Club members at the flying field so those interested could see a flying demo o Start earlier to see if we can get magazines or other giveaways o
Consider having our fun fly the following Monday and inviting anyone at the show who is interested o Have a map to the flying field o Consider preparing bios for the planes similar to what Ed Gardner had for his planes o Consider having a voting for best in show o Consider a table that shows the accessories necessary to get started · We need volunteers for a Balloon Fest committee to organize and coordinate our participation.
