Meeting Minutes

 

 

New members:  No new members

 

Old business:

  • A motion was made and seconded to approve the previously distributed minutes of the February 7, meeting.
  • Neal McGrath reported that during the month of February the only activity was the receipt of $90 of 2008 dues leaving the club with a balance of $2972.
  • After a brief discussion it was concluded that the Club would support the Special Olympics.  The nature of our support will be discussed at future meetings.  It was also concluded that we would investigate how we might become involved with the Boy Scouts.
  • Several members agreed to assist with the April 12, 2008 Fly-in as follows:
    • John Moll – Drinks
    • Eric Walker- Hot dogs & Hamburgers
    • Curtis Bost–Plates silverware etc.
    • Neal McGrath- Gas Grill

 

New Business:

·        The flying field committee is going to hold a formal get together in order to make a plan of action.  Neal is going to coordinate with the other members.

·        The Snow Birds are going to be performing on May 7th at the airport.  We will be able to put on a static display, but Eric is going to check on if we can possibly fly at the event.

·        It was brought up that the balloon fest is up in the air as to whether or not it will be held.  Jim Farley reported that the Balloon Federation is still planning on having their championships Labor Day weekend in Anderson.

·        Now that we are in Daylight Saving Time, student night is back on.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact their instructor to set up a flying time.

·        Frank Rothmann has some neat small plastic containers with lids if anyone wants some.

 

Announcements:

 

  • Dues for 2008 are now past due.  Dues for existing members are $30 and can be remitted to Neal McGrath at the following address:

  • The next meeting will be April 4, 2008
  • Futuba has recalled some of its 2.4 GHz transmitters.  You should visit their web site for additional details.  Hobby Connection can also check out your transmitter.
  • Fire Tower will be having another Pylon race April 5.
  • Blue Ridge will be hosting a Fly-in May 10.
