Meeting Minutes

New members:  Zach Walker was approved as a new member.  Zach was the winner of the trainer given away at the BallonFest.  Please make a point of introducing yourself and congratulating Zach at the flying field.

Old business:

• Minutes-A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the September 4, meeting as previously distributed.
• Financial Statements-Neal McGrath presented the financial statements for the Quarter ended September 30, 2008 and reported that the Club treasury had an ending balance of $2,156.
• Officer Nominations-Eric Walker reported that he still had not received any nominations for the positions of Club president, vice president or secretary /treasurer.  If you would like to nominate someone or would like to serve as an officer please contact Eric Walker.  We would like to vote on the new officers prior to the Christmas party.
• September Activity- Eric Walker reported that we had good turnouts at both the Carolina Fest and the static display at the NHC.  At the Carolina Fest we presented the Hunt family with $300 dollars of proceeds from the raffle of the plane donated by Hobby Connection.  Eric was also able to report that based on his last checkup Mr. Hunt was cancer free.

New Business:

·        It was concluded that the Christmas party would be held at 6:00pm December 2, 2008 at the Ryan’s on the Hwy 28 bypass.  We would like your help in procuring merchandise to give away as door prizes.

·        George Estes and Jimmy Smith attended a meeting of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP).  George reported that they would like to begin building and flying R/C planes and would like some assistance from Tri-County including guidance with building and flight instruction.  Please consider volunteering some of your time to assist these kids in getting started in our hobby.  George will make some specific request for assistance at the next meeting.  The CAP normally meets at 6:00pm on Tuesdays.  In addition, George was going to see if he could get Horizon Hobbies to donate some merchandise to get them started.
